So you want a career in IT but you don't have the qualifications...........

So you want a career in IT but you don't have the qualifications - an evening of discovery Stuck in a rut in your career?  Considering returning to employment after a break? Looking to boost your promotion prospects? Feeling uninspired? Want a career in the IT Sector? Open up new horizons with a career in the IT Sector, where you can take your career anywhere you please. You may have seen the billboards, you may have heard the radio promos, you may have watched the news reports and/or read the newspaper adverts regarding the job opportunities in the IT Sector. Do you want to be part of it? Do you want to find out more? Do you want to get into the IT Sector but feel that you do not currently have the qualifications? Then read on, this event is for you. QUB School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is hosting an information evening on Thursday 1st August 2019 from 18:30 - 20:30 in the Computer Science Building, 18 Malone Road. The evening will be open to anyone who is interested in a career in the IT Sector whether they are considering a career change into the sector, a graduate in a discipline other than IT or someone who is considering returning to employment after a break. We will be providing information on our long standing and award winning conversion course, the full time and part time MSc in Software Development. We’ll be highlighting the opportunity to study and complete the course in full time mode, enabling you within 12 months to gain the qualifications to enter employment in the computing sector. We’ll also detail the part-time mode of delivery of the course, with its evening delivery over a 2/3 year period for anyone who is currently employed and/or has commitments which would prevent them from undertaking the full-time study course.  Some background information on the course may be found at: The event is an opportunity to find out more about the course with a short talk detailing the course structure and application process, after which there will an opportunity to informally chat with our teaching staff, current students and recent graduates, as well as discover from the companies attending about the ample variety of career opportunities there are in the IT Sector. The course teaches all aspects from scratch so prior experience in the specialisms such as programming is not required. During the evening we’ll also provide you with an opportunity to gain some hands-on experience in programming and get a taste of how the course is taught and how our modules are delivered. During the evening there will be short Experience Software Development sessions, where you may, if you wish, see how code is created and how our modules are delivered. This informal event is free and refreshments with finger food will be provided. What are you waiting for? Register today and take your first steps into a new and inspiring career.
